Terms of Service
Asking Jeff’s Movers for a number or locking in a booking means you accept the terms below. They apply to this website and to the moving, packing, and storage services our crew performs as an Indiana-registered, insured household-goods carrier operating out of Highland.
Where we operate
Our territory covers Highland and the surrounding Region: Munster, Griffith, Schererville, Hammond, Dyer, St. John, and Crown Point, along with long-distance jobs on I-65 and I-94. Everyone who touches your shipment works directly for Jeff’s Movers; we never place your job with an independent driver or an outside company.
Building your quote
Denise builds your written figure from what you tell her: the two addresses, a state-line crossing or high-rise booking if one applies, stairs or narrow access, driveway or basement restrictions, a rough inventory, and your preferred date. That figure holds for a job matching what you described, and no toll, mileage, or fuel charge gets layered on top anywhere inside the Region. Simply describing your move to us doesn’t put a date on hold, a slot only becomes yours once our office confirms it in writing.
If the job on-site doesn’t match the quote
Occasionally a property looks different in person than it did over the phone: more furniture, a rougher driveway, or a different address entirely. If that’s the case, the crew explains an adjusted figure and waits for your sign-off before any work continues. Short of that situation, you owe exactly what your quote said, nothing more.
Changing your date
Confirmation order determines who holds a slot, not the order calls came in. Give us a heads-up as early as you can if something changes, that way another customer waiting on the calendar can slide into your old spot. Your signed agreement, not this page, is where the specific deposit figures and cancellation terms for your job live.
What we ask of you
- Give us an honest picture of the job, including room count and anything heavy or oversized
- Flag state-line access, high-rise timing, stairs, and fragile items before the crew shows up
- Handle any building-management or HOA approvals that fall outside what our office arranges directly
- Keep walkways and doorways clear on both ends so the crew can move efficiently
Coverage and damage claims
What you’re covered for comes down to the valuation option you select, layered on top of federal moving rules. Every shipment carries basic released-value protection automatically, no charge, no cents-per-pound math beyond sixty cents for each pound an item weighs. Step up to full-value protection and you’re looking at roughly one to three percent of what you declared your shipment worth, with cargo coverage reaching as high as a million dollars behind it. Damage claims have to go in writing, and the window for an interstate shipment typically runs about nine months from the delivery date.
Website use policy
What’s published here is a general description of what we offer, updated from time to time, though we can’t promise every sentence stays perfectly current. What isn’t allowed: using the site for anything illegal, disrupting how it runs, or trying to access parts of it you’re not meant to reach.
Amendments to this agreement
As our practices shift or the laws governing them change, this page gets revised to match. Whatever version is posted at the moment you book is the one governing your move.
